Day 1 | Istanbul – Thessaloniki
We depart at 22:00 from the Kadıköy marriage office, at 22:30 from in front of Mecidiyeköy Square/Bambi Cafe, at 23:00 from in front of İncirli Ömür Plaza, at 23:30 from in front of Beylikdüzü Marmara Park Mall, and at 23:59 from in front of Silivri Vega Mall. (You are required to be at the specified locations at least 15 minutes before the departure times.) After approximately 3 hours of travel, upon our arrival at the İpsala border gate, we complete customs and passport procedures and then cross into Greece, heading to Thessaloniki via Alexandroupolis (Dedeağaç), Komotini (Gümülcine), Xanthi (İskeçe), and Kavala.
Day 2 | Thessaloniki
After arriving in Thessaloniki in the morning, on our panoramic city tour of Thessaloniki we visit the Church of Saint Demetrius, the largest church in Greece, and the house where the founder of the Republic of Turkey, the great leader Atatürk, was born and lived. We see the Church of Hagia Sophia, the Ottoman Bath, the Ottoman Mosque, the Bedesten, the White Tower, the Round Tower, and the International Fairgrounds. We take a walk along the waterfront promenade, famous for Thessaloniki’s cafes and shops, and give free time until 14:30. After settling into our hotel, free time. Guests who wish may join the Thessaloniki Mega Center & Jumbo Store Shopping Tour, to be organized at 16:00, featuring many famous brands. (30.€) Overnight at our hotel in Thessaloniki.
Day 3 | Thessaloniki
After breakfast, full day free time. Guests who wish may join the optional Kalambaka/Meteora Tour. (65.€) Meteora means ‘suspended in the air.’ You will not believe your eyes when you see these incredibly tall and steep rocks. Not only does it have magnificent geology, it also expands your imagination. These awe-inspiring rocks in Central Greece rise steeply above the flat valley north of Kalambaka and south of the Pindus Mountains. Monastic life began in the 11th century with the first monks who came to these heavenly pillars in search of a suitable place for seclusion. Here we see the monasteries built atop the steep rocks and visit the Vlaram Monastery together, receiving information about the formation of the monasteries and monastic life. After a short lunch break, we return to our hotel in Thessaloniki. Guests who wish may also join the Panoramic Thessaloniki Masterpieces Night Tour, organized at 20:00, where they can see the places visited during the day under the evening lights and experience the lively nightlife in the center of Thessaloniki. (20.€) Guests who wish may also participate in the lively music Tavern & Sirtaki program. (65.-€ / Fixed Menu – Limited Drinks) For both programs, return to the hotel is at 23:59 from Aristotle Square. Overnight at our hotel in Thessaloniki.
Day 4 | Thessaloniki – Kavala – Xanthi – Komotini – Dedeağaç – Istanbul
After breakfast, we depart for Kavala. Arrival in Kavala. Kavala panoramic city tour; the Imaret, Aqueducts, Kavala Castle, City Hall, Kavala bazaar, and the waterfront promenade are among the places to be seen panoramically from the bus. After 1 hour of free time, we head to Xanthi (İskeçe). After a short panoramic walking tour in the old bazaar made up of traditional old Turkish houses reminiscent of Safranbolu in İskeçe, an important settlement where the Turks of Western Thrace live, we give 1.5 hours of free time to enjoy the beautiful cafes and taverns. Afterwards, we see the cities of Komotini (Gümülcine) and Alexandroupolis (Dedeağaç), where Turks also live in large numbers, panoramically from the bus and proceed to the İpsala border gate. Shopping opportunity at the Greek Freeshop during customs and passport procedures. Arrival in Istanbul via İpsala, Keşan, and Tekirdağ, and the end of our tour. We hope to see you on our next tour...
