After our sightseeing tour in Nemi, where narrow streets open onto squares and the enchanting view of the lake and valley blends with the scent of strawberries in the air, we take you on a historical journey through Rome and its icons, called Urbs aput mundi, meaning “the city at the center of the world,” where you will encounter art, history, music, shopping, sun, and cuisine, with buildings in different styles stretching from antiquity to the Renaissance. While the works created by architects competing with one another attract thousands of tourists to the city in every season, Rome can carry even these crowds with all its beauty and aesthetics without overwhelming people. On our tour of the imperial city of Rome, which shaped European civilization and has witnessed 23 centuries of history, first among the places to see will be the Colosseum, the ancient theater that became the symbol of the city and hosted gladiator fights throughout the Roman Empire, the Roman Forum, which was the ceremonial center of the city during the imperial era, the Fountain of Love, where, according to legend, anyone who throws in a coin will return to Rome again, the Spanish Steps, famous for street artists, and Piazza Pietra and Piazza Popolo, which will be seen panoramically. At the end of the tour, we offer free time in Rome city center at the Pantheon. During this free time, our guests who wish may join the extra Vatican and Rome Local Neighborhoods Tour program (65 Euro). In our tour, which will begin with a view of Castel Sant’Angelo – the Castle of Angels – and Navona Square, we visit the Vatican / San Pietro, the center of the Catholic sect of Christianity and the smallest country in the world by area. We offer free time in San Pietro Square (St. Peter’s Square), where thousands of Catholics come and gather every year for worship, and where the Pope greets the public from his office on special occasions, and where San Pietro Cathedral, the largest cathedral in the world with 140 statues of saints, is located. Guests who wish may visit the cathedral section “free of charge” depending on availability. After the free time offered, we begin our Rome Local Neighborhoods tour. In this walk, where we will mingle with the people of Rome and feel like residents of the city, Trastevere, where we will experience the true Italian atmosphere with its cafes, small family restaurants, boutiques, greengrocers, butchers, and many more small and charming shops in addition to its naturalness and simplicity; Piazza Trilussa; Ponte Sisto; the Ghetto area; and the Ancient Tiber Island, connected to the city by 2 bridges, are among the places to see.
