TOUR PROGRAM;
After picking up our guests from the designated points, we head toward Ayvalık. Around 11:00, we board our excursion boat departing from Ayvalık center. Some of these routes, which may vary depending on weather conditions, include magnificent bays such as İncirli, Kara Ada, Aquarium Island, Maden Island, Çıplak Island, İlyosya, Cleopatra Bay, etc. In our tour, which continues with animators and competitions, after reaching the first stop, we take a swimming break. In total, after the first of 3 one-hour breaks, we have our lunch. Our unlimited fish and pasta service with seasonal salad depends on our guests telling our waiters that they are full. On our boat, there are alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and alternative food options in the bar section. Before arriving at Cunda Island in the evening, we start serving fruit. At 17:30, our boat docks at Cunda Island.
Cunda Island, one of the favorite holiday destinations in the Aegean region, fascinates its visitors with its untouched history and nature. During the free time we will have on the island, you can see Taksiyarhis Church. You can sip our mastic Turkish coffee at Taş Kahve and taste lokma at the famous Lokma maker Saki. You can take a beautiful journey through the streets of the charming Greek houses that defy time. Our boat, departing from Cunda Island at 18:30, ends with its return to our departure point in Ayvalık around 19:00. We pick up our guests from Ayvalık and begin our return to Bursa. We say goodbye to our guests, dropping them off at the points where we picked them up, to see them again at the next Tatil Avcısı Tourism event.
ABOUT CUNDA ISLAND;
The current name of Alibey Island is a tribute to Lieutenant Colonel Ali Çetinkaya, commander of the first unit that began armed resistance by defying the sultan’s order to 'surrender to the Greeks' during the War of Independence. The island was previously known as Cunda and Moshonisia (Fragrant Island). It is believed that the Yund Islands mentioned in Piri Reis's Book of Maritime are this region. Alibey Island is connected to the mainland by two separate bridges. Built in 1964 at Dolap Boğazı, Turkey's first strait bridge connects Alibey and Lale Islands. Lale Island, on the other hand, is connected to the mainland by a 700-meter level bridge-road built in 1817 by filling in the sea.
Due to its natural beauty and historical structures, Alibey Island was put under protection, and in 1976 the 17,900-hectare area in and around Ayvalık was designated as a natural and historical protected area. Alibey Island has many churches and monasteries remaining from the pre-exchange period of the Greek Orthodox community. The protection of these structures became possible only with the recognition of Alibey Island and the purchase of properties on the island by sponsors who would provide capital for restoration. Finally, the restoration of the mill located in the area known as 'Lovers' Hill' was completed in 2006 and opened to visitors. There are still many historical artifacts on the island waiting for sponsors for restoration.
