In Zemun, we will see mansions from the Austro-Hungarian period, the bazaar, the tavern street, the old theater, and Zemun park. Then we go to Avala Tower, designed by architects Ugljesa Bogunovic and Slobodan Janjic. After touring the tower, which was bombed by NATO in 1999 and reopened in 2010, we will visit the mausoleum of Marshal Tito, the Croatian-born founder of the 2nd Yugoslavia. He was elected President of Yugoslavia on January 13, 1953 and turned Yugoslavia into a Socialist Federal Republic. In 1974 he was appointed President for life and died in 1980, though the controversy about him still continues; after his tomb visit we will go to the Tesla Museum. Nikola Tesla, the Serbian-born American inventor, physicist and electrophysics expert, made many experiments/inventions, both used and unused, that could fundamentally change the structure of science and technology in the world. In particular, an invention such as wireless transmission of electricity and his proving it explain how unique an inventor he was. We are sure you will be fascinated by this museum.
