SAMSUN - FIRST STEP MONUMENT - BANDIRMA FERRY - ATATÜRK STATUE - TRABZON – HAGIA SOPHIA – ATATÜRK MANSION – SUMELA MONASTERY
After meeting our valued Tatil Avcısı Turizm guests at the designated departure points, we begin our Black Sea tour. After breakfast at the rest facility on the road in the morning (Extra), we arrive in Samsun, located in the region where the Kızılırmak and Yeşilırmak rivers flow into the sea, where the foundations of the Republic were laid. The first stop of our Samsun tour will be the Atatürk Statue, which has become the symbol of Samsun. After seeing this monument, which was made in 1931 by Austrian sculptor H. Kriphel, and taking our souvenir photos, we visit the Bandırma Ferry, the vessel that brought Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK and his 18 companions to Samsun on May 19, 1919, to start the national struggle. After a short photo break, the place where the pier stood where Atatürk stepped ashore in Samsun on May 19, 1919 was filled in with rocks during the construction of Samsun Port. Today, 250 m inland, we visit the First Step Monument and, ending our Samsun tour, pass through one of the longest tunnels currently in use in our country, the Nefise AKÇELİK tunnel (3820 m), and, with the information we receive from our guide, head to Boztepe, the symbol of the city of Ordu. After our free time at the cable car park, we leave Ordu and see Giresun Island, the Giresun Castle built during the reign of Pontus ruler Farnakes, and the Tomb of Topal Osman, the regiment guard of our Great Leader Mustafa Kemal, panoramically from our vehicle. After shopping for hazelnuts and hazelnut products, we pass through the districts of Vakfıkebir and Akçaabat for our lunch. After our meal, we visit Atatürk Mansion, which was gifted to Atatürk by the people of Trabzon. Then we visit Trabzon Hagia Sophia, built between 1238 and 1265 during the Comnenos Kingdom period and featuring frescoes on the western façade related to the history of Christianity. We then head to Sumela Monastery, located within the borders of Maçka in our province of Trabzon. While visiting Sumela Monastery, you will be fascinated once again after listening to our guide's explanations. (Whether a visit inside the monastery will be possible depends on the conditions of the period, as restoration work continues by the T.R. Ministry of Culture and Tourism.) After our Sumela Monastery visit, we head to our hotel for dinner and accommodation.
