DAY 1
ISTANBUL - ROME
We meet three hours before the flight at the international departures terminal of Sabiha Gökçen Airport. After baggage, ticket, and boarding procedures, we proceed to our private bus waiting for us at the airport following our scheduled Pegasus Airlines flight to Rome, then depart for a panoramic city tour. Rome, once a magical city that shone with endless splendor and was shaped by the winds of history, has hosted the grandeur of emperors, the courage of gladiators, and the highest forms of art. On this tour, we will see Castel Sant’Angelo, where Cem Sultan was imprisoned. Castel Sant'Angelo was actually built by Roman Emperor Hadrian as a mausoleum and later converted into a fortress. In the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, it was used as a kind of prison and a papal fortress. Another place we will see in Rome is the Colosseum, in the heart of the city, carrying the spirit of ancient times. In this enormous arena, brave gladiators and wild animals once engaged in epic battles amid the cheers of the people. After our visit to the Colosseum, as we approach the Trevi Fountain, made famous by the film La Dolce Vita, the melody of water echoes among the dazzling statues. Make a wish and toss a coin into the fountain, and Rome's magic will never let you go again. For they say that whoever comes here once will surely return one day. The Temple of Hadrian, the Pantheon, and the Spanish Steps, consisting of 135 stairs and home to the fountain with the sunken ship, are among the sights to be seen. In the evening, return to our hotel and free time for rest.
DAY 2
ROME – (VATICAN & OUTLET – CASTEL GANDOLFO – NEMI)
After breakfast, free time. Optionally, our guests can join the extra Outlet and Lakes Region tour (Vatican & Outlet – Castel Gandolfo – Nemi). Castel Gandolfo, shaped around an elegant castle rising toward the sky, feels like a fairy tale land whispered through the stone streets, and with each step you will be enchanted by the peaceful charm of this town where history and nature intertwine. The lake, resembling the bluest mirror under the sky, is almost like a gateway to a fairy-tale world with its calmness and beauty. The Papal Palace in the heart of the town is a symbol of fairy-tale beauty and historical splendor. For centuries, popes have found peace and rested in this magical place. Its gardens and pathways filled with colorful flowers will make you feel as if you are inside a dream. Nemi is famous for its strawberry fields shining like red jewels. The annual Strawberry Festival is celebrated with colorful festivities. After visiting Nemi, free time in Italy's most famous outlet area. DAY 3
ROME – (NAPLES - POMPEII))
After breakfast, free time. Guests who wish may join the Naples and Pompeii tour organized as an extra by our guide (95 €). We depart for the ancient city of Pompeii, located at the foot of Mount Vesuvius and buried under ash after Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD. Pompeii was an important trade and cultural center during the Roman Empire. The city was a prosperous settlement where agriculture, trade, and art flourished. However, as a result of the devastating eruption of Mount Vesuvius, the city was suddenly covered under a layer of lava and ash. This disaster froze Pompeii's daily life of the time and turned it into an open-air museum preserved to this day. After our Pompeii visit, we set off for Naples. Upon arrival in Naples, we begin our city tour. Naples was founded by the Greeks in the 7th century BC and is the capital of the Campania region in southern Italy. The city was an important center during the Roman Empire and has hosted many cultures and civilizations from the Middle Ages to the present day. The Historic Center (Centro Storico) is famous for its narrow streets, historic churches, ancient ruins, and magnificent squares. Duomo di Napoli (Naples Cathedral), Castel Nuovo (New Castle), built in the 13th century, Palazzo Reale (Royal Palace), San Carlo Theatre, Galleria Umberto I, and Via Toledo are the city's most important landmarks. After breakfast, free time. Guests who wish may join the Tuscany tour (Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa) (95€), organized as an extra by our guide. Our first stop is Pisa, the romantic Italian city steeped in history. Of course, the first thing that comes to everyone's mind is the Leaning Tower of Pisa. This world-famous tower, with its leaning stance, is located in Piazza dei Miracoli, the Square of Miracles. After seeing the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the nearby Piazza dei Miracoli, we depart for San Gimignano. With its stone buildings and historical structures, the square gives you the feeling of walking through a time tunnel. Here you can visit small shops selling local products and handmade souvenirs, and taste one of the world's most delicious ice creams at the famous gelateria (Gelateria Dondoli) on the corner of the square. After our tour, we head to Siena. When you arrive in Siena, where neighborhood culture continues, the first place we will see is Piazza del Campo, the heart of the city. This large and sloping square is considered one of the most beautiful squares in the world. In the center of the square is a marble fountain called Fonte Gaia. The square hosts the famous horse race Palio di Siena, held twice a year. This race is an exciting event where horses from 17 different contrade (neighborhoods) compete. Siena Cathedral (Duomo di Siena) is also among the places to see. This magnificent Gothic structure is covered with white and green marble.
