Day 2 | Vathy Discovery – Tavern Night
After breakfast at our hotel, we meet at the point specified by our guide at 16:00 in the afternoon and begin discovering Vathy accompanied by our guide. During our walking tour, which lasts about an hour and a half, we begin to explore Vathy. Throughout our pleasant walking tour lasting about an hour and a half, we receive information from our guide about the island’s rich history, everyday life culture, local people’s lifestyle, charming cafés, delicious restaurants, and entertainment spots. As we proceed through the narrow streets, we witness up close both Samos’s past and its present spirit.
During our walk, we see the island’s only Catholic Church, which is now abandoned. Standing out with its silence and mystical atmosphere, this structure is one of the special stops that sheds light on the island’s multicultural past.
Then we reach Aslanlı Square, considered the heart of the city and the oldest still actively used town square in Samos. Here, we see the lion statue that symbolizes the square and explore the surrounding historical texture. The Town Hall and Archaeological Museum, located around the square, are also included in our visit as structures that bear important traces of the island’s history.
In the final part of our tour, we complete our visit at the monument of Themistoklis Sofoulis, one of the important figures of modern Greek history, known as Samos’s first President. At this meaningful spot, we both take souvenir photos and capture in our memories the atmosphere of Vathy, intertwined with history and culture.
During your remaining free time, you can sit at cafés overlooking Vathy, take a walk along the coast, or enjoy the sea.
In the evening, one of the events that best reflects the spirit of the island awaits you. In our extra-arranged Tavern Night program, we enjoy ourselves in a delightful atmosphere accompanied by live Greek music. Unlimited ouzo and wine are included in the menu served that night. Guests who wish may get suggestions from our guide to continue the evening at different venues.

Guests who wish may enjoy the turquoise sea, take a walk along the coast, or capture wonderful photos with postcard-like views.
Our next stop is Pythagorion, known as the birthplace of the famous mathematician Pythagoras. In this area, which enchants with its historical texture and seaside atmosphere, we tour accompanied by our guide; we receive information about Samos Castle, the Transfiguration Church, and the famous Blue Street. After a short walk in the port area, we take a photo break in front of the Pythagoras Monument.
