In the first part of our tour in Venice, we will see major iconic structures such as San Marco Square, whose columns were brought from Istanbul and which was built from stone and marble; San Marco Basilica; the Doge’s Palace, designed and used as a symbol of grandeur and power; the Clock Tower; the Bridge of Sighs; and the historic Campanile Bell Tower. After breakfast and hotel check-out, we depart to organize our Florence city tour. In Florence, the capital of the Renaissance and the hometown of Pinocchio, we will first see from the outside the Santa Maria Del Fiore Cathedral, Europe’s 4th largest church, which immediately stands out with its orange dome. One of the cathedral’s most striking features is its bronze door, called the “Gate of Paradise,” where scenes of the stories of prophets, some of whom are also mentioned in the Quran, are depicted as representations. Later, Giotto’s Bell Tower, which was once used to summon the people to parliament, Piazza della Signoria, the political and social center of Florence for centuries and home to Michelangelo’s famous Statue of David, and the Old Bridge (Ponte Vecchio), famous for its antique and jewelry shops, are among the sights to be seen.
